7DAY Breakthrough Healing Challenge: Day 3

Emotional gardens have to be watered for power…
Welcome to Day 3! Emotional power your key to the life you deserve!

Today’s Prayer

God we thank you in advance for the life that you planned for us. We submit ourselves, our mind, our focus to positioning ourselves for all that you have in store for us. We pray for grace and strength for this journey and the audacity to go after dreams, hopes and desires with relentless faith and healthy emotions. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

OVERVIEW

Our emotional conditioning is important to our faith, focus and fight. It’s not always our top priority but our emotional garden has to be watered intentionally and regularly.

Today, we’ll focus on “Watering our emotional garden.”

Today’s Message

Some of us have experienced battles and challenges that come from out of nowhere and catch us off guard. If you know like I know, the problems that shake us don’t make announcements before they show up, they usually show up unannounced.

It’s not so much what happens to us as much as it is what happens in us when life knocks us down or when we get hit. God is our anchor, our rock but there is a human element involved in every battle. The bible said, “No weapon formed against us would prosper,” and that’s true — in the spirit, but we will get hit in the flesh. Even though a weapon will not prosper, we will have to deal with that hit, that trauma, that pain, the reality of being wounded. That’s life.

There’s is no avoiding the hits. Your purpose draws attacks. Your anointing draws attacks. Put this in your spirit…When Jesus crossed the lake, the demon possessed ran up to Him and said, “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” (Matthew 8:29). Listen beloved, Jesus didn’t come for the demons, the demons came for Jesus. His anointing drew them out, His anointing caused them to get riled up in a panic because the anointing is the enemy of darkness.

The enemy will come for you because you’re anointed. Understand this…The enemy is never going to attack the Holy Spirit, the enemy is going attack your mind. The Spirit of God is God, and the enemy cannot defeat, tempt or traumatize God. The only way in is through our emotional gate. Our emotional weakness or blind spot. And the enemy will use anybody, a desire, a plan, a relationship, even a rank stranger to try to get into your head and wage war against your peace.

The enemy knows that if he can get you into an emotional battle, he can defeat your prayers, your focus, your trust in God, your hope, your peace, and oppress your thoughts and fruit. The enemy is the oppressor of the mind. He knows no weapon formed will prosper — kill your spirit, but he knows that if we have emotional blind spots, unhealed and unattended emotional gardens, we are subject to being dragged away.  Listen to what the bible tells us beloved:

“When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death” (James 113-15)

I hope somebody caught that. The enemy is going to tempt, attack, try to trigger, whatever has the ability to drag us away. Listen to what I’m saying…In order for the enemy to try to attack or tempt “it,” it has to already exist in us. In other words, the enemy is going to use somebody or something that goes after whatever is going on inside of us that is capable of dragging us away from our faith, our focus and trust in God.

The enemy examines us and our emotional garden so closely that he knows what to attack and when. With who and how.

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

Put this in your spirit beloved…they did what they did to you because the enemy knew it would get to you. They were on assignment. They had an assignment and didn’t even know it. Your vulnerability in the faith is whatever has the ability to drag you away. I hope somebody is catching this…

We can’t wait until we get hit to water our garden, to weed our garden, to be good stewards over our emotional garden. God is opening doors, preparing places and shifting atmospheres for your anointed purpose. But understand this, God will not take us to a level that our emotional preparedness can’t handle.

What we’re able to do is prioritize our emotional health and intentionally weed our emotional garden. It’s not a matter if we’re going to be attacked, it’s a matter of when. You are a threat, your purpose is a threat, your blessings are a threat — the enemy knows that if you get loose, if you get blessed, if you get promoted, you’re gong to bless somebody else, you’re going to give somebody else hope, you’re going to give somebody else silent permission to believe in the impossible. Your attacks are not just about you, your attacks are about the people who are going to be blessed when you get blessed.

We have to prioritize our emotional conditioning, our emotional health. Not in the storm but for the storms. Peace is minimized when our emotional garden is compromised. Our hope suffers when our garden is overgrown with weeds. Our joy is oppressed when we allow contrary emotions to promote thoughts that contradict our power. We have to develop the habit of being good to ourselves in season and out of season. We have to sharpen our emotions for the battles to come.

You are somebody’s hope, inspiration, example, and picture of what they can become, what they can do, and what God is able to do through them. That’s why the enemy wants to drag you away. You’re not just getting in emotional shape for yourself, you’re getting into emotional shape for the people God assigned to your testimony!

When we water, strengthen and weed our emotional garden on a regular basis, we won’t have to get ready when life happens, we are ready, through grace and faith, to do whatever God said we could do!
