7DAY Power Challenge: Day 6

The road to a fulfilling life, a purpose driven life, is paved with actions
Welcome to Day 6 of our Power Challenge! Today we’re going to talk about Powerful Actions. Faith is the key, actions unlock the door to the life we deserve.

Today’s Prayer

God you put your Holy Spirit us to guide us and to teach us in all things. God we thank you for giving us the power to be doers and not hearers only. We thank you for divine wisdom that tells us faith without works is dead. Thank you for your word, thank you for your Holy Spirit and thank you for the grace to manifest the life you promised through powerful actions. God we ask that you give us the courage and the strength to do what you said we could do, be who you said we could be and have what you said we could have. In the name of Jesus, Amen and Amen.

Individual Prayer

Today’s focus is on actions, actions that move you in the direction of the life you deserve. Speak commitment over those actions that you want to take, that you need to take for your best life, and ask God for wisdom and help for any actions that you have struggled with. It’s action time!

Today’s Message

Actions are one of the hardest and the least talked about areas in the Kingdom. There are a lot of folks who confuse actions with miracles, or think powerful faith works without actions. a lot.

I’ve seen so many folks struggle and suffer because the faith they were taught, or choose to believe, tells them that God’s divine will does not come with divine responsibilities or require our participation through powerful actions.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26)

It’s not that any of us have ever accomplished anything without action. It’s not that we know anybody who succeeds, grows, heals or changes without participation in work. We don’t know a relationship that’s winning that didn’t have to work for it. Actions make the difference between faith on fire and faith under fire.

Put this in your spirit…What’s the difference between where you are right now and where you want to be? There are only two things that ever stand between where we are now and where we want to be, or what we want to accomplish:

  1. Understanding
  2. Actions

We can’t take the right actions without having the right understanding. Have you ever had a situation or a problem that wasn’t a wisdom or an action problem — I’m talking about making God moves? The bible declares, “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7). In other words, when we combine wisdom or knowledge with actions, faith is empowered to win. Faith has to be connected to an action to get a Kingdom reaction (Hebrews 11:6).

The bible put it this way, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us– yes, establish the work of our hands” (Psalm 90:17)

The dream chaser, the visionary, the generational curse breaker, the faith-preneur, the called, the empire builder, the promise keeper, and anybody who is going to leave a legacy, have a fulfilling relationship, or live their best life, will show you their faith by their actions (James 2:18).

I’m always asked, how do we define Powerful Actions? Or what’s the difference between regular actions and powerful actions? There’s a big difference.

Powerful actions don’t simply define “doing something.” We can do wrong things right, and right things wrong. Powerful actions are intentionally and faithfully executed with knowledge and plans that give us the highest possibility of success — in anything we do. Knowledge doesn’t mean we know it all, it means we’ve invested in knowing and are humble enough to change if and when we learn better.

Of course everything won’t require the same degree of knowledge, planning or effort but when it does, powerful actions are the only way to get the job done, resist the enemy, have a fulfilling relationship, start the business, heal, grow, shift and bounce back from a setback.

No matter what requires your powerful action, every powerful action has three parts: Plan, Focus and Goal. To plan your powerful action, you have to get an understanding of what you must do. To focus, you have to have to define the actions that you will take and take action. The goal of doing right things right is for the work of your hands to be blessed.

Then…

Use the ingredients to:

  1. Pick 1 goal that you’re working towards or that you’ve had on hold
  2. Apply the action steps to your goal, remembering the key ingredients:
    1. Define it: Write the vision down and make it plain. What is the desired outcome if the work of your hands are blessed
    2. Plan it: Write 5 Action steps and the requirements of you (within your control) to effectively complete the action. Action steps can require mental and emotional work to be effective. If you have work to do, knowledge to gain or resources/wise counsel you need to get, write that down for each action step.
    3. Put a date on it: Give each action step a start date and a completion date. Adjust if necessary but use dates to drive your actions, commitment and focus.
    4. Prayer over it: Pray over your goal and actions, and for a spirit of conviction, commitment and excellence.
  3. Share your goal with 1 person who is capable of giving you honest feedback/critique of your plan to accomplish your goal. If it’s a relationship goal, include your partner in all four steps in #2. Update your action steps if necessary to include what you didn’t know or didn’t add based on feedback.
  4. Track your progress. Powerful action takes powerful commitment and powerful focus. Track your progress, work your plan and don’t allow yourself to make excuses for not honoring your powerful actions.

Repeat…

Bless you!
