Thriver Series Week 1 Day 2

Welcome Thrivers to Day 2 of week 1…

Greetings Thrivers! I’m excited to share with you today about an important key to Thriving. Before we get started, I want to advise you to take a minute to review the Thriver Overview for important information about the workshops and accessing Thriver Notifications.

See the link below for Thriver Series Overview.

Today, I want to focus your attention on Manifesting. For many, this might sound like “The law of attraction” or some other new-aged theory for attracting wealth or material things into your life. While many subscribe to the idea that the key to happiness and fulfillment in life is what we can manifest or draw to us, I want to take the time to examine a more powerful and biblical meaning of manifestation that will transform your life from the inside out.

Years ago, my mentor said to me, “If you make life, joy, happiness, fulfillment dependent on the things you get, you will live life for getting as opposed to becoming.” In other words, manifesting is not about getting things, manifesting is about becoming things. Becoming the very things that open doors, set the atmosphere, empower and position us to win in life, conquer and thrive! Let me explain…

Let’s say you’re in the midst of a battle, navigating a toxic relationship, walking out your healing journey, encountering spiritual warfare, or you’re pursuing your calling in life. Now let’s imagine for a minute that you’re being challenged, you’re overwhelmed, and you’re praying to God for the answer or the manifestation of whatever it is that you want or need for your victory. Who hasn’t been in this situation or experienced this condition?

If you have accepted the call on your life, you have experienced attack, distress, difficulties and challenges. Along your healing journey or perhaps in a relationship, you’ve experienced challenges, difficulty and distress. In those situations, if you’re like most, you’re praying for manifestation of an external thing to relieve you of the internal stress, fear, hurt or struggle. And what happens to our thriver spirit, our thriver mindset when we are warring and waiting, overwhelmed and distressed?

Have you ever felt defeated while you’re waiting on a victory? Have you ever felt helpless and hopeless while walking through your valley? These are taxing emotions and contrary emotions to the thriver in you. If we’re not careful, our desire for what we think we need externally to relieve us of our internal battle will rule out all other possibilities including the possibility that we already have what we need or that God has already provided what we need for what we need to do or can do next.

Walk with me for minute through the bible for an illustration of what I’m talking about. How many of you have heard, or been told, that God parted the Red Sea? This version of what happened, like many biblical fables, undermine the thriver in you and the key to manifestation. When the children of Israel were freed from Egypt, they found themselves at the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh and his army in hot pursuit. Doesn’t this scenario sound familiar? Warfare tends to start just as soon as God moves us into position to win, to possess our inheritance.

As Pharaoh’s army approached, the children of Israel feared for their life. Why? Because they believed the God that freed them led them to their demise. Listen to what they said to Moses: “Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” (Exodus 14:12). Does this sound familiar to you? We said previously: “If we’re not careful, our desire for what we think we need externally to relieve us of our internal battle will rule out all other possibilities including the possibility that we already have what we need or that God has already provided what we need for what we need to do or can do next.” This is called manifestation from within.

The thriver in you has to manifest from the inside out to position for an external move of God. The bible tells us: “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13). Think about that. God is working in you — manifestation, to give you the desire and the power to accomplish His will for your life. Can you fail with that? If we allow manifestation to mean what we’re waiting on as opposed to what God is doing, we can become overwhelmed by feelings of hopelessness and defeat in the face of our struggles.

Listen to what God told Moses after he prayed on behalf of the children of Israel’s distress: “Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. And as for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground” (Exodus 14:15-16). Did you hear what God said? Did God part the Red Sea or did God tell Moses to use what he already had to do what God gave him power to do?

This my friends is how divine manifestation works for the thriver. Thriving, as we said in our previous study, is our position not our condition. As a thriver, your confidence and assurance comes from knowing that in every situation and circumstance, God has already manifested on the inside of you what you need to manifest His will and plan for your life. In other words, you have what you need for your next step, next move. Manifestation in the spirit happens in us to give us the power, the vision, the discernment, the courage to do whatever comes next in God’s plan for our life.

To put this into practice, I want us to practice identifying what God has manifested on the inside to accomplish what we need to accomplish on the outside, take the next step, do whatever comes next, or to be at peace in the midst of the storm. This is critical for the thriver in you to practice. Let’s look at what this looks like in our everyday lives in this weeks thriver challenge.

Blessings,

Patrick

Workshop 3 for week 1 will be published on Wednesday, August 10th.  Each week there will be 3 workshops. The workshop schedule for each week will be published with the first workshop of that week.

Week 2 Thriver Challenge

  1. Reread this scripture from today’s workshop: “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him” (Philippians 2:13). Then answer these three questions (Use scripture references below or of your choosing to help guide you to manifest from within):
    1. What is the hardest part of your struggle(s)? (i.e. waiting, not knowing or being able to see what God is doing, fear of the unknown, the difficulty, lack, etc.)
    2. What has God given you to take your next step (i.e. knowledge, access to resource(s), access to wise counsel, courage, applicable fruit(s) of the spirit – Galatians 5:22-23, etc.)
    3. What is your position in this condition that supports what you will do according to God’s plans for your life? (i.e. what are three core beliefs/scriptures that inform your faith, attitude, focus, confidence, assurance, etc.)

Scripture references:

  • “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4)
  • “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13)
  • “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28)
  • “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7)
  • “The LORD will open the heavens, His abundant storehouse, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations, but borrow from none” (Deuteronomy 28:12)
  • “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4)
  • “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Galatians 5:22-23)

Patrick, you wrote this in the lesson above: “How many of you have heard, or been told, that God parted the Red Sea? This version of what happened, like many biblical fables, undermine the thriver in you and the key to manifestation.” Do you believe that Bible stories are fables and are not true and real accounts in the Bible? Would appreciate clarification. Thank you.
